That`sme-- zhuyingjie from Badong shiyan primary school.I am

eight.I am young but I know “we are the masters of nature.”

Wehave only one earth. But now,the environment becomes worse and worse. As youknow,there's no enough clean water for people.

Somany of them lose their lives because of water.If we take good care of our earthtoday,it will be more beautiful tomorrow.

Mydear friend let us start from the trivial side,To be a good kid keeper.

Goodmorning/afternoon/evening, my name is_ . It is really a great honor to havethis opportunity/chance to introduce myself. I would like to answer whatever youmay raise, and I hope I can make a good performance today.

Iam a third year master major in automation at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, P.R. China. Withtremendous interest in Industrial Engineering, I am writing toapply for acceptance into your Ph.D. graduate program.

In1995, I entered the Nanjing University of Science & Technology (NUST) --widely considered one of the China’s best engineering schools. During thefollowing undergraduate study, my academic records kept distinguished among thewhole department. I was granted First Class Prize every semester,In 1999, I gotthe privilege to enter the graduate program waived of the admission test.

Atthe period of my graduate study, my overall GPA(3.77/4.0) ranked top 5% in thedepartment. In the second semester, I became teacher assistant that is given totalented and matured students only. This year, I won the Acer Scholarship as theone and only candidate in my department, which is the ultimate accolade fordistinguished students endowed by my university. Presently, I am preparing mygraduation thesis and trying for the honor of Excellent Graduation Thesis.

Researchexperience and academic activity

Whena sophomore, I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast and began to narrow downmy interest for my future research. With the tool of OpenGL and Matlab, Idesigned a simulationprogram for transportation scheduling system. It is nowwidely used by different research groups in NUST. I assumed and fulfilled asewage analysis & dispose project for Nanjing sewagetreatment plant. Thiswas my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.

Inretrospect, I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory andexperience, which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. My future researchinterests include: Network Scheduling Problem, Heuristic Algorithm research(especially in GA and Neural network), Supply chain network research, Hybridsystem performance analysis with Petri nets and Data Mining.

Mytopic is Honesty.

Asa correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman, thePresident of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England. Inthis picture, this is James, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon’stooth. This is a true story.

65years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. He oftenvisited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which hethought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep asa treasure.

Hekept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolenit was there in the background all through his life. It was always on hisconscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decidedto put right his childish error. In 2002, he visited Qingdao and returned it tothe Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome.
